Welcome to the InfoHEAVEN "What are Digital Books" page that gives a brief explanation to those curious individuals (You) that are new to the world of Digital Books and would like to know exactly what a Digital Book is and how it compares to traditional paper books.

Simply put a Digital Book, or ebook (short for "Electronic Book") is a type of book or manual that can be downloaded, stored on your computers hard drive, and read right from your computer.

In case you didn't know........

• Once you download a Digital Book you no longer need to be connected to the internet to actually view them.

• The only place that Digital Books take up space is on your computers hard drive which eliminates the need to store them on a shelf in your home like conventional paper books. (A great space saver!)  

• Digital Books can be produced not only with text, but with the use of brilliant looking pictures to enhance the overall experience.

• Unlike traditional books a Digital Book can even contain hyperlinks that will direct you to various other websites found on the internet.   

• When you are finished with a Digital Book you can simply delete it from your computers hard drive or save it as long as you want.

• Once you have downloaded a Digital Book onto your computer you may be required to also install specific types of software to allow you to actually open and read the Digital e-Book.

• The most common types of Digital Books are either PDF formats or .exe formats.

• Just like paper books, Digital Books can be read over and over again, but Digital Books don't wear out from use. (Unless a file becomes corrupted, but that is a rare occurrence.)

• When downloading Digital Books for free or purchasing, you can instantly receive your book.  No need to travel to the book store, be put on a waiting list, or wait days or weeks for the post office to deliver the book to your house.

• With Digital Books there is absolutely no need to cut down trees for paper. A definite environmental plus!
